Since I live in Sharjah, I should across sheikh Zayid road every day. One day when I looked outside, I noticed an attractive advertisement for HTC Mobiles that have a special button for a social network “Facebook”. Really I was shocked from it! I remembered how we communicated with our family and friends in the past. Many years ago there was no any different way to communicate with your family and friends unless you see them face to face. Day to day, the communication skills were improved effectively until the social networks appeared and cancelled all the prior communication ways. For example, nowadays it is enough to write “Happy Birthday” for someone`s birthday on his/her profile instead of going and saying it to him/her face to face.
I agree with you Enas. The development of communication technologies made the bonds between us weaken although they made communication easier. In earlier times, people had to be physically present to communicate their feeling to each other, and after the invetion of the telephone most face-to-face meetings got replaced by telephone conversations, and then vocal communication got replaced by SMS's, e-mails, IM's and different forms of social media, so ironically more communication can be done with little actual contact.
